The Sanand facility of Tata Motors is located in GIDC Sanand, about 35 kms from the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Being the youngest plant of TML, the Sanand facility boasts of having an up-to-the-minute technology across all its processes. The highly mechanised plant has incorporated a lean process management system.
This facility has a flexible assembly line and is known for producing various models of passenger vehicles like Nano, Tigor and Tiago. The plant has a capacity of producing 400 vehicles per day, working in two shifts.

The in-house training facility of TML Sanand has set a benchmark in the industry. The plant has a dedicated training centre which is well equipped for sector-specific training of freshers. The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) has benchmarked the whole facility and is replicating the model across the country’s automobile sector.
In December 2017, Tata Motors kicked-off its e-mobility journey by flagging-off of the first electric vehicle – Tigor EV – from the Sanand plant.
