The Tata Motors' plant at Pantnagar is the site where the best-selling Tata Ace - the mini one-tonne truck, and its variants are manufactured. The plant is a world-class project and spreads across 1,000 acres in Uttarakhand's State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCUL).
The Pantnagar plant has been built with state-of-the-art facilities and is a key enabler of Tata Motors' leadership in the mini-truck segment.
The plant has been designed to enhance speed and efficiency in manufacturing. It is the company's first plant with an integrated vendor park, which occupies 337 acres of the plant's total area. This helps keep inventory low and ensures 'just-in-time' (JIT) supplies. The 62 vendors based here account for nearly 70 percent of the items supplied to the plant.
The general office at Pantnagar is a gold-rated green building, a testament to the unit's efforts to reduce energy consumption and boost energy efficiency. The plant has an Integrated Management System (IMS) certification, which includes IATF: 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001.
