Tata Motors' Thailand facility produces the Xenon range of vehicles. It Produces the Tata Xenon Super CNG, this facility gave Thailand its first pickup truck with a factory-installed 100 percent CNG system. The Thailand facility also serves as a base for Tata Motors' operations in Malaysia, Vietnam and Australia and can roll out 15,000 vehicles a year.
The facility began operations in 2008 with the introduction of the Xenon 2.2L VTT DICOR common-rail diesel pickup. The Xenon range has established Tata Motors at the vanguard of energy-saving vehicles in Thailand. It now assembles Xenon pickup trucks and the Super Ace small truck from completely knocked down (CKD) kits. Encouraged by the market response, Tata Motors plans to augment its offerings from its Thai facility to include heavy and light commercial vehicles.
This modern facility has a welding line for the body in white, paint shop and trim, chassis and finishing lines and state-of-the-art CKD material-handling facilities. It is located at Samutprakarn, 15 kms from Suvarnabhumi Airport and 80 kms from Laem Chabang deep sea port.
